We recently embarked on an exciting new journey as Polyflor South Africa transformed into Polysales. This evolution is more than just a name change; it’s a bold step into the future, reflecting our growth, innovation, and unwavering commitment to our customers.
On a memorable evening, surrounded by friends, family, colleagues, and cherished business associates, we celebrated a remarkable milestone—the evolution of Polyflor SA into our vibrant new identity, Polysales.
Our CEO, Tandy Coleman, beautifully captured the essence of this transformation, reflecting on a legacy deeply woven into the fabric of her family. This journey began in the 1950s with her grandfather Louis introducing the innovative Polyflor vinyl flooring into South Africa, a product ahead of its time, which quickly captivated the market. Although the brand briefly slipped from family hands during an industry restraint of trade in the late 1960s, the Coleman spirit remained resilient.
Fast forward twenty years, and Polyflor UK entrusted Denver Coleman, Tandy’s father, with the daunting task of reintroducing Polyflor to South Africa. Facing scepticism, Denver leveraged creativity, determination, and a deep belief in his product, eventually reshaping the industry landscape. Alongside Sheila, his wife and indispensable business partner, Denver's relentless spirit laid the foundation for the company's lasting success.
Joining in 1994, Tandy witnessed and participated in this growth first hand—from working out of the family dining room to occupying progressively larger warehouses, building an extraordinary team along the way. She warmly recalled early days filled with family, pets, and children blending into the rhythm of the business, highlighting enduring relationships such as Frans, one of their earliest employees, whose three sons continue his legacy within the company.
Today, the Coleman family's influence is proudly carried forward by a dedicated and talented team—"family" not merely in name, but in values, shared goals, and genuine care. This team has upheld Polyflor’s cherished principles of reliability, craftsmanship, and unmatched customer service.
Recognising the evolving landscape driven by technological innovation, economic shifts, and changing client needs, Tandy shared how the company has proactively adapted. By securing competitive pricing through strategic bulk purchasing and expanding its range of offerings, Polysales has positioned itself to better serve a dynamic market. Central to this evolution was the decision to adopt an independent brand—Polysales—to authentically represent all our esteemed product lines, including the longstanding Polyflor and Gradus ranges, as well as our exciting new partnership with Novocore®.
The addition of the Novocore® brand and their innovative LVT range, celebrated on this historic evening, symbolises our commitment to innovation and excellence. Novocore® is an internationally recognised brand that upholds the highest manufacturing and environmental standards. Tandy warmly welcomed Novocore’s representatives, Ugur and Sabrina, to the Polysales family, highlighting a synergy in values, ethics, and passion for quality.
As we move forward, Polysales remains anchored in our foundational values of trust, integrity, and excellence. Like a masterful artist blending tradition and innovation, we continue to craft enduring value for our clients, partners and community.
