[Nelia Garcia](https://info.polysales.com/news/author/nelia-garcia) Jul 7, 2020 --- **Vinyl sheeting has been widely used in healthcare spaces where hygiene is paramount. Due to the pandemic that we’re in, hygiene and infection control is now more critical than ever. Watch Polyflor CEO, Tandy Coleman discuss why vinyl flooring plays a critical role in the [healthcare industry](https://www.polyflor.co.za/flooring-solutions/healthcare-flooring/), why it makes sense to apply the healthcare standards for other market sectors, why to take the contentious "buying local" discussion in context, sustainability and more in the [SpecExpo](https://www.buildinganddecor.co.za/spec-expo/) hosted by [Building & Decor](https://www.buildinganddecor.co.za/). ** Watch the [interview](https://youtu.be/4oAtVE7BDC4)with Tandy Coleman and the Design & Decor team for insights on the role of vinyl in healthcare and why we at Polyflor are so passionate about vinyl and the Polyflor brand.  As Tandy mentions in the SpecExpo, vinyl flooring has become the benchmark in the flooring industry specifically because vinyl flooring is durable, flexible, smooth and impervious to water,  it can be coved up the wall and is perfect for an area where you need to both clean and disinfect because there are no joins or corners where dirt can collect which ultimately causes bacteria to grow. With the correct cleaning and maintenance regime, it is very  difficult for bacteria to grow on vinyl sheeting, as there is nothing for the bacteria to feed off, such as dirt and moisture. Below we look at the multiple benefits of vinyl sheeting  besides [hygiene](https://www.polyflor.co.za/flooring-solutions/healthcare-flooring/), such as comfort and safety, durability and customisable design possibilities. Find out why you should consider vinyl sheeting for your next project. ![Why Vinyl 1](https://info.polysales.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Why%20Vinyl%201.png?width=2820&name=Why%20Vinyl%201.png)   ![Why Vinyl 2](https://info.polysales.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Why%20Vinyl%202.png?width=2820&name=Why%20Vinyl%202.png)   ![Why Vinyl 3](https://info.polysales.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Why%20Vinyl%203.png?width=2820&name=Why%20Vinyl%203.png) [![Download our vinyl sheeting guide](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/2749413/635d6256-79e9-4d7d-b6df-6e7c6ae4f0f4.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/2749413/635d6256-79e9-4d7d-b6df-6e7c6ae4f0f4) --- For more insights like these **[sign up for Polyflor Insights ](https://info.polyflor.co.za/subscribe-to-polyflor-insights)**and we will send useful tips and advice straight to your inbox.
